A steep, challenging 2 mile climb

Overview

Mount Storm King is very popular switchback trail, however, it is one of the most challenging and more exposed day-hikes on the Olympic Peninsula. The trailhead is located along the family-friendly Marymere Falls trail and abruptly transitions into a 2-mile, 2,000 foot gain switchback leg burner. Many hikers stop at the 1.3 mile lookout of Lake Crescent. However, those with appropriate hiking footwear and experience can use a series of ropes to hike to a sweeping summit view above tree-line overlooking Lake Crescent.
