Hiking Tour & Photo Workshop Summary

During October, the Olympic Peninsula features some of the best fall colors and stunning waterfalls in the Pacific Northwest. Olympic Hiking Co. is excited to partner Michael Matti for our 2nd annual photography workshop and multi-destination hiking tour throughout the most scenic fall destinations on the Olympic Peninsula. This four-day special event combines our top-rated Olympic National Park hiking tours with Michael leading brilliant on-site photography demonstrations for how to best capture these iconic viewpoints and lessons for his overall photo taking process.

The workshop part of the tour will also include indoor media sessions where we will cover a wide range of valuable topics including workflow, editing, social media, and travel.

The tour will start at 12:00 PM on Thursday, October 17th at the Seattle Ferry terminal and end back at the Seattle Ferry terminal around 6:30pm on Sunday, October 20th. You also have the option to meet in Port Angeles or at the Bainbridge Island ferry terminal if you prefer to drive to one of those locations yourself.

The specific locations for the tour will vary depending on the weather each day but they will include waterfalls, rain forests, beaches, and mountains (weather permitting). Marymere Falls, Sol Duc Falls, Second Beach, Hurricane Ridge, Rialto Beach, the Hoh Rain Forest, and Lake Crescent are some of the locations we plan to visit on this tour.

Testimonials

The workshop was “hands-on” and provided a chance to put into practice the new techniques that we learned both for taking photos and editing in Lightroom. Michael was very helpful and provided individual feedback and suggestions throughout the workshop. I would highly recommend the workshop to any beginning or intermediate photographers looking to improve their skills.

One of the coolest and most rewarding trips I have been a part of in a long time. It was four days of early mornings, scenic hikes, lots of learning, and genuine fellowship.

I feel lucky enough for a chance to explore with such a talented photographer, Michael Matti, and with an incredible tour guide, Olympic Hiking Co. The Olympic Peninsula workshop was a blast and complete success because of them.
